2.2.a Advance a Shared Vision - Working together with department members, to find the best Moodle options for our department needs.
2.2.b Advocate for Equitable Access - Providing as many opportunities for students to both learn and also present their understanding in more than one format. Initially by changing URLs to verbal, video or written, but also by ensuring multiple versions of texts are available.
2.2.c Model Digital Tool Use - Sharing my (in particular, Moodle) knowledge, to allow for easier sharing of tasks within the department, but also ensuring students are maximising the shortcut options within MS 365.
2.1.a Create a Positive Experience - Through my CAS responsibilities, I regularly encourage students to bring an understanding of how their actions impact others.
2.1.b Evaluate Resources for Credibility - All source work in ELL needs to be cited and considered for bias. Students are being asked to consider Author's Intent and Audience Expectation, for everything.
2.1.c Model Safe, Legal, Ethical Practices - I only use original sources for all movies etc I use. I discuss the importance of creative ownership with students, and explain my reasons for my own decision above.
2.1.d Manage, Protect Data - Student work that is to be publicly published, will not have identifying details. In-house products, like the Literary Magazine, have a restricted audience by design, but any online details only have student first names and an initial.
Apart from Managebac, (new) Moodle, and (more) Teams, I have also been working alongside department colleagues to make use of Exam.net and to also see if Magic School can be of use to our department in assisting with the quantity of ever changing content that our course requires.
2.1.a Set Professional Goals - To learn how to navigate and utilise all school systems efficiently.
2.1.b Participate in PLNs - Work effectively alongside work peers, and begin to meet people outside of ISNS.
2.1.c Keep Current on Research - Our dept and section meetings give me many opportunities to learn better ways of using our systems and hacks for working smarter.
2.2.a Advance a Shared Vision - The recent ISN online seminar was a good start to this. It means I can come to department meetings with details of what other educators are thinking and doing.
2.2.b Advocate for Equitable Access - While this is not something I get to do at a very high level here, this is one of the things I have been working on for many years now.
2.2.c Model Digital Tool Use - I bring my own background and research to meetings to show my colleagues anything that I find that could help us and/or our students.
